Autosuggestion

We are Autosuggestion. This is our music. It may be anything we like, whether other people like it or not. We like a lot of things: Instrumental guitar music, minimal funk, psychedelia, noise-rock, jazz. Trance, space-pop, grunge, post-punk, ambient. Controlled and uncontrolled mayhem. Anything, really. We've done a lot of music. But most importantly, we made it. At least, we made it somewhere...

We were founded several years ago as the side-project of another band with the intent of playing overtly eccentric music in contrast to our funk-inflected garage-band roots. At the time we (briefly) called the project Silencer, then (very briefly) Tout Les Femmes Japonaises. We eventually settled on Autosuggestion, and gradually wholely engulfed our previous band, which in the end became... our side-project.

We currently have two primary albums out. Supernovacaine is our more "mainstream" sounding album, however loosely we may use the term; This is mainly due to the extensive contribution of our surprisingly tall bassist, Jeff Williams, the most down-to-earth sailor on this ship of fools. Murderous Euphoria - here in its original, somewhat raw demo version - is far less compromising, although no less entertaining; It is the sprawling first opus of our neurotic vocalist/producer, Julian Malerman, the least "grounded" of us all.

The two EPs, Vivisection and Dance, Puppets, Dance!, are remixes of material from or intended for the album Murderous Euphoria, occasionally superior to the material on the album itself. The former is mostly ambient electronics, occasionally delving into noise; the latter begins as pure unbridled dance music, gradually descending into pure glitch.

We have several releases on the way, including the long-rumoured double EP Motor Bastards!!!, in which drummer Joe Dromboski showcases his surprising rhythm guitar chops and Julian finally fulfils his dream of fusing as many incongruous genres as possible over the course of one album.
